Ciao, I am Leo, a young professional from Milan, Italy. I work as art director, music consultant, graphic designer and occasionally actor. In my life I always look for new stimuli, challenges and experiences, this explain my many occupations and the intention to undertake this "adventure" as Au Pair. One of the things that fuel me is creating relationships with other individuals and discovering new habits, cultures and traditions. I am an extremely open minded person and I always enjoy to reset myself to a new environment. I have always got along with kids since I am a big kid myself, they always remind me of who I am and where I came from. I am often a big brother to many children since I am someone they can talk to about topics many adults are strangers to: toys, cartoons, films, princesses, videogames etc. I live life always looking at the bright side and always trying to make people smile with a very playful attitude. Aside my "big kid" attitude, I have a great sense of responsibility and manners, I know when to play and when to stop, when to say yes and when to say no. An au pair experience and an intense period with children will help me to take a break from my stressful unhealthy habits, will allow me to recollect my thoughts, and clear my head about what I want to do next. It is a brand new experience for me, which I do not see as a CHALLENGE but more as a CHANCE and a great OPPORTUNITY I grew up with a huge family: 5 aunts each with her own partner and therefore child. I am one of the oldest (younger only to my sister) and growing up taking care and baby sitting my younger cousins was something that the family expected us to do. One of them has recently gave birth to Lena, and she has been my GYM in terms of dealing with little babies (feeding them milk, changing nappies etc.) Still not something I am 100% confident with. My stepbrother also has two children that I have recently taken care of in LA, age 4 and 2, they are one of the reasons I am considering the AU PAIR experience, I recently come back from California where I was taking care of them before their baptism. Tawan is my most recent little brother, age 7, son of a family friend, I have been tasked to take care of him between 1/2 weekends a month. We share the same passion for videogames and cartoons and he is often devastated when we have to separate. Kids in the family, and friend's family, for some reason look up to me, they often see me as a role model and this has always gave me great responsibilities around them. As mentioned before becoming Au Pair would stimulate a lot of inputs essential for my persona. Dealing with a kid to discover myself and bring out my inner child is just one of them, the international context is one of the most fascinating thing about being an Au Pair. Living, discovering, experiencing a different culture in a different country is one those things that broadens my horizon the most, these experiences make me a better and more understanding person.
