Dear Host Family My name is Viesy. I am 21 years old and I live in Barranquilla - Colombia with my Uncles. My mother's name is Angelica and she works as a Stylist in Ecuador. and my father's name is Vladimir he works as an architect. I have three brothers. We are a very close, sociable and communicative family. My family is very big and I love it. My mother has two sisters and three brothers, and my father has four sisters, so I have many uncles, aunts and cousins. I love kids. I am the oldest so I have always been taking care of my brother when my parents were working and also my little cousins in summer, preparing their food, helping them with summer homework, playing and doing crafts together or going to the pool. Always I have been surrounded by children! When I finished high school, I decided to study English in an American Academy here in Colombia. For me, it was one of the most important decisions of my life. I have always been very active and hardworking, so I tried to help at home by combining my studies with different jobs. in summer I took care of my little cousins. I love working with children because they know how to get the best out of me and I try to teach them to do the best they can. It is a very rewarding job. I always liked having new friends and I met my friend from China for an application and she became my best friend. So it rose even more, my desire to know more about your country and your culture. My family and friends say that I am a very motherly, responsible and caring person, and I love children, so this year I decided to fulfill my dream of being an Au Pair in China. They support my decision and are very happy for me. I am delighted to have the opportunity to know their lifestyle, their habits and their country, which I admire a lot. And what better way than to do what I love! I love spending time with children and learning everything they can teach me every day. They learn a lot from us, but we learn from them more than we think. For me, it's wonderful to see them grow with us and learn, little by little, to be more independent. I have experience in caring for children from six months to ten years, girls and boys as well. In 2006 I took care of my little brother, who was one year old. The experience was great. I used to wake him up. have breakfast together, help him get dressed, go to the pool or play the farces because he liked it. Afterwards, I took care of my cousin, who loved seeing how she made plasticine figures and then tried to do them herself. She was a very responsible girl, so I used to help her in her summer homework and when she finished we used to go to the pool. Sometimes, I would dress with her and play makeup or cook cookies, because what she liked most was to surprise her mother with chocolate cookies made by herself. In addition to the child care experience, I also love reading books and newspapers every day when I have some free time, listening to music and watching movies. I have always loved traveling, meeting new people, talking and sharing experiences, going out with friends or preparing lunch or dinner with my family or with my friends too. I like to eat healthy, cook and try new flavors but, with that, I love making cakes and cookies with butter or chocolate, brownies, cheesecakes and fruit smoothies. I find it very entertaining to teach children how to prepare desserts and smoothies . I am very excited about the opportunity to get to know you better and be a member of your family. I hope you have had fun reading my letter and knowing a little more about me and my dream. I hope to hear from you! Best wishes, Viesy.
