August 5, 2018 Palmira, Valle del Cauca (Colombia) Dear host family: Firstly I want to thank you for reading this letter and for giving me the opportunity to share with you an impression of me and the reasons I am writing this words. My name is Andrés I am 26 years old and I would be way happy if you give me the chance to go there and learn more about the Chinese culture.Lots of friends have recommended it to me after they had spent a year there and in addition it always has been an interesting and beautiful country for me. I live with my aunt, her husband and our pets and plants in Palmira, a gorgeous city in Valle del Cauca - Colombia. My oldest brother is living in Santiago de Chile, My mother with my others brothers and my stepfather are living near the house I live. All my family is supporting me in becoming an au pair, this make me truly happy. I went to a Catholic school and there I finished my graduation (secondary), my favorite subjects was mathematics, chemistry and applied physics. After that, at the age of 17 and a half I started to dance in a dance school and at the same time I decided to apply to the petroleum engineering bachelor's degree, fortunately I was chosen. Nowadays I can say it was hard but I am a engineer and also a dancer. Some months later I traveled to Canada to study English, it was the last year. I consider myself as a healthy boy, I have always been interested in doing sports, I chose dancing as the first, but I also enjoy playing football, volleyball, swimming, going to the gym and others hobbies are watching movies, reading and listening tomusic. Furthermore I also love traveling, I have had the opportunity to be in Equator, Mexico, The United States of America and Canada. From my 17 years I have been involved indirectly with kids.As a dancer, I have had to take care of many of them. When I became a dance teacher I started to deal with people of all ages. When I gained more experience I was able to be the teacher of the children’s group. It was when I were 19. During the day I was at the university and during all the afternoon and night in the dance school. When a kid wanted to take the dance as a lifestyle I had to take care of him or her after school until the parents finished the labor day and got them home. This way I started with childcare. After almost 7 years far away from home I am here in my hometown, I have been here for the last 9 months I arrived here after the trip to Canada. Since January somebody contacted me for taking care of two kids and now along with my grandmother they are my commitment. But soon I will have to say them goodbye because their mother is coming. I want to take the next step and travel and live some new experiences. Yours sincerely, Andrés.
