How long does it take to find a Host Family?
There is no rule. Knowledge of the language and the profile of the candidate are crucial. Once we receive your application form and video, Host Families will have access to it and after review, they will decide if they want to get to know you better via video interview. This can happen within few days and sometimes it takes months.
Why does HF hire an agency instead of searching for Au pair themselves?
There are many of reasons. Chinese parents are very busy and mostly they don’t have enough time to do all the process themselves. It means doing a research and screening profiles, arranging interview, checking qualifications, checking documentation provided by Au pair, ensuring Mandarin classes, ensuring insurance, preparing Visa documents, arranging picking up at the airport, transportation from the airport to Host Families homes etc.
There is A LOT of work that agency needs to do :)
Should I apply now or to wait until Covid situation gets better?
There is no need to wait!
You can fill in the application form and make introduction video as soon as our International Coordinators introduces you to the program. Once you share it with us, you will be available for Host Families.
China closed its borders, is there any point to apply now?
Yes, there is. We can do all the process now and then just wait for borders to reopen. It’s easier for everyone to do all the steps gradually, and to not to wait the last moment to do all work at once.
